Works for me - and it wasn't before. What's the problem with it for you?

$ perl -Ilib bin/prove -rb --state=save t
<runs all tests>
$ cat .prove
<looks normal>
$ perl -Ilib bin/prove -rb --state=slow t
<runs all tests in slow-to-fast order>
