My Testdrive account isn't working - I should probably sign up for  
another but I'm giving them a little while to sort it out rather than  
litter their boxes with abandoned accounts.

It seems that VMS under simh-vax /is/ viable - which raises the  
possibility of VMS smoking hosted in an emulated environment. Getting  
hold of the VMS hobbyist licence and media is a bit of a pain - I'm  
trying to navigate through that now.

There's also a possibility that the Charon VAX people will be  
prepared to donate a licence for their emulator. Their initial  
response was encouraging - just waiting to hear from the people who  
have the final say.
