At the risk of sending this discussion off the deep end, I wonder if
this might be the sort of thing that Moose is designed to help solve?
At the very least, regardless of the appropriateness of Moose, I'd
guess that Stevan Little might be able to offer some helpful
suggestions on pros/cons of different approaches.
