Having started the work on TAP::Parser and doing a lot of evangelizing of it, I can promise you that the people talking to me (admittedly a self-selected group) aren't doing interesting things because it's too hard with Test::Harness. I abstain from any grant votes related to TAP::Parser because we get *so many* of them and I don't feel it's appropriate for me to vote on them. I get stopped at conferences and asked about how to do X with TAP::Parser. I get "thank you" emails from folks who are happy that TAP::Parser has solved problems that they can't solve with Test::Harness. Nick Clark is actually avoiding some testing work with Perl 6 (Pugs, I think), because he's waiting for TAP::Parser to hit core.
Now that Andy and Eric have stepped up and done a lot of the heavy lifting I was too tired to do, TAP::Parser is really beginning to shine.
Test::Harness 3.0 is going to kick ass.
