It sounds very sensible to me.  It also may not work.  Plenty of folks will have T::R installed and they'll bitch when it's an old T::R and it fails when they upgrade to TH3.  Also, we don't know how many "stealth" output parsers people have written out there.  I wholeheartedly agree that since we've made it easy to properly extract this information, people should go that route.  However, to get TH3 out there, we need to minimize how many thing we break.
